There is a basic road network on the Island, but probably the easiest way to get around the Island is by the extensive public transport network.  This is particularly useful if you are going for a walk which will not take you back where you started!

The main forms of public transport on the island are:

Buses

TRAVEL NEWS - Changes apply to some bus routes from 31st August 2008.

IOW bus times change twice every year: previous visitors should check for timing/route changes.
Current times began: 31st August 2008        Times expire: Sat 4th April 2009

Services are run across the Island by Southern Vectis and possibly the cheapest way to get around is by using a Rover ticket, which gives unlimited travel on SV buses and Dotto Trains, although not on buses run by Wightbus or Island Line trains.  They are available from all Travel Offices, Southern Vectis Buses and PayPoint shops on the island.  For timetables for bus services on the island, visit the main buses section.
